Multi Tote Bag - Strawberry Jam for Riley Blake Designs

Hello! It is hot hot hot. I'm seriously melting over here in Southern California. It's still spring, but it feels like Summer already. This made me want to make a huge bag! A bag that you can stuff all your summer goodies in like a straw hat. Strawberry Jam fabric by Lauren Brewer for Riley Blake Designs is perfect for spring into summer sewing. It has the cutest strawberry prints, bunnies peeking behind cute dainty florals, and beautiful floral prints using the prettiest color pallette. 

I made the tote bag multi-functional of course. You can either use it open in it's tote position, or you can bring the side together with the button strap inside to make it boxier. Either way, it will hold a lot of your stuff! I added roomy elastic side pockets to hold water bottles, and a front pocket for your cell phone and keys.

Hot Wheels Toy Caddy

It's always refreshing to make things with boy fabric and this is the ultimate boy fabric - licensed Hot Wheels fabric by Riley Blake Designs! I haven't made anything for Jack in a while so when he saw me making this Toy Caddy, he was so excited. Like every little boy, Jack has probably over one hundred Hot Wheel cars. We've been storing them in this plastic bag tote but a Hot Wheels Toy Caddy is way cuter and functional. Honestly, I'm tired of seeing them scattered all over my house, so now that he has a dedicated bag for them, hopefully he will help me clean up his mess! I added a drawstring closure to keep it together and added handles so Jack can easily carry it from room to room.

Handmade Saddle Bag - Splendor for Riley Blake Designs

Hello friends! Warm weather has now arrived and it's making flowers bloom, mountains green, and sunshine to fill our uncertain times. Splendor fabric by Jen Allyson of My Minds Eye for Riley Blake Designs brings all those elements into this beautiful collection. The colors are stunning. Jenn designs pretty graphic florals, mixed with text elements, which is one of my favorite fabric combos.

I decided to make a Saddle Bag, with the text print being the star of the bag. I added the print to the front bag flap and added a twist lock to enclose the bag. I added multiple pockets of course, so you can store all your essentials. For me, essentials include - sunglasses, wallet, traveler's notebook or journal, pens, and hand cream (mostly hand sanitizer nowadays).

Ephemera Tool Bag - Flea Market Mix Fabric

Hello! This is the last project I made for the beautiful Flea Market Mix Fabric by Cathe Holden for Moda Fabrics. I saved the best for last! I've always dreamed of making an Ephemera Tool Bag, something that can hold my treasures or current journals/projects I'm working on. Flea Market Mix is the perfect fabric this design. If you know my designs, I like to make things with multiple uses, and this bag has plenty! 

I hope you like it! Here's what I made:

The bag functions as a tool bag, a storage box, or a flat pocket tote. The box is removable so you can place it as needed when journaling or working on projects. I made it large enough to hold travelers notebook journal and up to A5 journals. The box has a drawstring closure to keep all your things neatly stowed. The removable tote can hold papers, stickers, stationary, pens, etc. I used clear vinyl so you have easy access to your tools and placed zipper enclosures to keep everything in its place. When placed together, the box sits neatly inside the tote and is secured with magnetic buttons. I added leather handles to make it sturdy and finished it off with my favorite lace from Blue Linen Cottage Shop.
