New Pattern Release - Pincushion Station

Hello! I'm so excited to finally share my new pattern - Pincushion Station! You can find my pattern here or in my Etsy store. The idea came about as I was thinking of creative ways to be more organized while sewing. When I sew, I usually have a small box filled with sewing essentials including a pincushion, scissors, my box of clips, and more which I place next to my cutting area. I usually move this box to my sewing my machine after I'm done cutting, and then back and forth, eventually losing where I placed it! I love pincushions just as much as I love bags, so I created this with organization and compact size in mind to easily transport around my sewing room.

This pincushion is weighted with crushed walnuts and has multiple pockets all around which can hold small to medium scissors, small rotary cutters, seam rippers, clips, and of course pins and needles. I also use it as a weight to hold down fabric when I'm cutting. All my essential notions are easily accessible, making sewing more organized and fun!

I hope you enjoy my pattern. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at creamcraftgoods@gmail.com . Also, I'd love to see your finished pincushions! Please use the hashtag #creamcraftpincushionstation and #creamcraftgoods on Instagram or Facebook. Happy Sewing!

Thanks so much!

Revisions to Patterns

Hello, if you purchased my patterns last week at Garden of Quilts, I have a few revisions for some of the printed patterns. Please see the patterns below with the corresponding revisions which are highlighted. You can click on the image, save and print.  Thank you for taking the time to create these patterns.  If you have any questions in making these patterns, please contact me at anytime - creamcraftgoods@gmail.com.

Envelope Pouch:

This is a revision for page 1, cutting.  For the main body, you should cut an additional  11"x 9" fusible foam interfacing. Please see the highlighted area:

Multifunctional Bag:

This is a revision for page 4. Instead of taking the side pocket template and cutting the curve, only take the side pocket template to mark the fold marks. Please see highlighted area below:

This is a revision for page 6. Please use a 3/8" seam allowance for sewing the inner bag, not a 5/8" seam allowance. Also, please see step 3 - for adding magnetic snap button. See highlighted areas below:

Envelope Bag

Lastly, for Envelope Bag Pattern, in Page 5step 8 - Assembling the bag, once your pin the side/bottom piece to the front envelope body, if you have any excess side/bottom, you can trim the excess. See highlighted area below:

Thank you if you attended my classes and/or purchased my patterns. I learned a lot and know how I can improve to make your bag sewing experience as fun and informative as can be. I appreciate meeting each and everyone of you!

Thanks,
Karen

Hidden Cottage - Versatile Envelope Bag

Hello! I hope you all had a great summer! My kids have started kindergarten and we are moving into Fall. So that means I have more time for Fall sewing! This new collection - Hidden Cottage by Minki Kim for Riley Blake Designs is the perfect collection to start off Fall sewing! Minki always has the perfect color palette and prints, and the fun thing about most of her collections is her "hexie cheater prints". What a great way to showcase each print from her line!

For this project, I created my Versatile Envelope Bag because it's a great way to show how different prints from a collection can go together. I'm also teaching this class in about two weeks, September 16-18,  at Garden of Quilts in Utah! And another surprise - I'm going to release this pattern for sale after the class event, so stay tuned on my Instagram for more info!

Here is what I made:

I hope you enjoyed my project! Hidden Cottage should be hitting stores soon, so check your favorite fabric retailer to see if they are carrying it!

Thank you!

Gathered Tote Bag - Flea Market Fresh

Hello! Here is my project for the newly released Flea Market Fresh Fabric designed by the uber talented Cathe Holden for Moda Fabrics. Just in time for spring flowers sprouting everywhere, this collection embodies the refreshment of Spring. Cathe has the best eye for gathering old and new together. The colors in this collection are fresh, smart, and go so well together. Her love for ephemera and olden times shine and I'm so excited to share my project with you - Gathered Tote Bag.

I created a two-tone bag to showcase the lovely prints and possibilities it has to offer. This collection has a lovely selection of colored stamps and I wanted to show them in the best way possible, so I made them into the main pockets of the bag. The curated floral botanicals was a perfect backdrop for the stamps.  This bag is roomy, so you can hold all your essentials and even some of your shopped items when you go to the market.

I hope you enjoy this project. Here is what I made:

Flea Market Fresh is starting to hit stores now, so check your favorite quilt/fabric shop to see if they carry it.

Thanks!
