Love Story by Webster Pages for Riley Blake

Hello and TGIF! I'm so excited to share my project for Love Story by Webster Pages for Riley Blake Designs! This fabric line is so beautiful and fun to work with just like Webster Pages planners and paper products. I know some of you sewers out there are also planner or stationary fanatics. I myself am a stationary/paper/sticker fanatic and have been collecting stationary for years (maybe even as much as my fabric collections haha). I've dabbled a bit in the planner hobby and it's really hard not to get hooked! 

So when I was asked to create something for this line, how could I not make a planner, or two, and a cute little pencil pouch. The fabrics in this collection coordinated so well, I just had to make a whole set of cute things! Planners and sewing for me, go hand in hand, especially when I am creating a project. I write and draw my ideas in a sewing planner/notebooks (I've created some before if you follow me on Instagram).

Here are a few shots of my process and progress for the pencil pouch. I decided to not do the traditional quilting lines. Webster pages is pretty, classic, yet modern, so instead of doing a busy patchwork design, it would be prettier to use pretty quilting lines instead. I did add a pretty vintage lace trim to accent the fabric. I think its beautiful and subtle and accents Love Story pretty good.

For the planner, I also was going to do some intricate patchwork design, but I decided I wanted something simple, but still quilty and fun. I wanted to make it look like a book with it's spine in contrasting fabric. For the cover, I just had to use the grey cabbage rose fabric. I love cabbage roses! Lastly, to make it cute and quilty like, I added a dog ear mark page on the corner in a contrasting fabric. For the inside, I used clear vinyl so you can see the pretty fabric and added a zippered pocket to hold pencils, bits and bobs, etc.

My last make for Love Story is this cute Mini Needle Book Planner. I love mini notebooks and I have a large collection in different mini sizes of course. I usually make mini notebook planners but thought it would be fun to integrate it into a needle book as well!
